On 19 November 2024, the Belgrade Youth Center will host the 10th anniversary edition of the Serbian Network Operators Group (RSNOG) conference. The RSNOG conference will bring together leading national and international experts to share their experiences and knowledge on network technologies, telecommunications market developments, and security challenges facing network infrastructure operators.
The program starts at 9:30 a.m. and will be divided into three thematic blocks. The first block, honoring RSNOG’s tenth anniversary, will commence with a reflection on the evolution of the internet and telecommunications in Serbia over the previous decade. Branko Mirković from the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) will give an introductory presentation, followed by a panel discussion titled “Network Trends in Serbia: Past, Present, and Future”. Panelists will include Nataša Begović (Yettel), Nenad Krajnović (Serbian Open eXchange – SOX), Boško Radivojević (Bolex Consulting), and Jan Žorž (6connect).
The second block will focus on telecommunications trends at the global, regional, and national levels. Professor PhD Aleksandar Nešković from the Belgrade University School of Electrical Engineering will present the global experiences and challenges with 5G mobile technology, which is set to be introduced in Serbia next year. Notable in this segment is the presentation titled “What’s Next for the Government Data Center in Kragujevac?” by Danilo Savić from Data Cloud Technology. Additionally, Jelena Ćosić from RIPE NCC will discuss network resilience in Serbia and Southeast Europe, while Dušan Stojičević from the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS) will provide a brief update on progress with the national DNS resolver.
The third block will focus on cyber security and network automation in telecommunications. Panelists in the “Cybersecurity in the Telecom Business” roundtable will include representatives from A1 (Mina Tomić), Orion Telecom (Marko Elazar), Unicom Telecom (Viktor Varga), and Dejan Mališanović (Pulsec). Following this, Vadim Volovik from Yandex Infrastructure will talk about network management automation using containers, and guest speaker Jan Žorž from Slovenia will present on creating a global anycast at 6connect. Finally, guest speaker Livio Morina from Italy will introduce the latest updates to PeeringDB, a service facilitating interconnection of telecom and internet service providers.
This year, Pulsec will sponsor the traditional RSNOG quiz, which will conclude the conference and award prizes to the most knowledgeable in internet networking and information security.
The Serbian Network Operators Group organizes the tenth RSNOG conference with major support from its principal sponsors, RNIDS and SOX, and additional sponsorship from Yettel, A1, RIPE NCC, Data Cloud Technology, Pulsec, and Yandex Infrastructure. Further backing comes from friends of the event: Aptient, Unicom Telecom, Unlimited, Orion Telecom, Beenet, Zelendata Center, and Beotel. The water sponsor is Dogma.
